Bring your children to Moving Planet Portland: Climate Action Fest and take part in activities designed to be educational, as well as entertaining!

CELEBRATE AN ANIMAL Face painters will be on hand to help your child celebrate their favorite endangered animal. A selection of animal designs will be provided.

PLANT A SEED Young and old alike can fill a pot made of newspaper with soil, plant a seed and take it home to bury in a yard, garden or even transfer to a larger pot on a balcony. The newspaper pot wll disintegrate and with a little TLC the seed will grow, illustrating for your child how easy it is to take a step in helping the environment.

WRITE A LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT Paper, pens and pencils will be provided for families who want to share their concerns about global warming with the president. A mailbox will be on hand so that children can drop their letter in the mail. Letters will be put into an envelope and mailed to President Obama at the White House the Monday following.

MAKE A WISH FOR THE PLANET Send out a wish for the planet. Paper and string will be provded so that wishes can be attached to the branches of a tree.

TAKE AN ACTION A DAY Squares of paper will be preprinted with actions children and adults can take to slow global warming. These can then be folded into origami fortune tellers and taken home to be used each morning to determine what action will be taken that day. Some blank pieces of paper will be available so that individuals can write down their own actions to choose from.
