Hundreds of kayakers, canoeists and paddleboarders will gather on the Willamette River in downtown Portland and form a giant floating 350. This will be the flagship event for River of Action, an effort to get paddlers across the country to rally together and represent 350 on their local waterways. The 350 will be formed just south (upstream) of the Burnside Bridge on the west side of the river. Primary photo angle will be midway across the Burnside Bridge, with downtown PDX in the background. This summer, a group of us got together in Sellwood to test the idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVzFekBfIvU Keen Footwear is hosting a pre-party on Thursday October 15th from 7-10pm at their headquarters in the Pearl. 13th and Lovejoy, free beer, film about exploratory kayaking/climate change and a rally for the 350 day of action!
