Join the Walk in Portland

Phil Carver and friends started on September 20th from Sunset Bay, to walk 350 miles along the Oregon Coast and Columbia River to Portland. They will complete their walk on October 24th, arriving at Portland’s Pioneer Square to coincide with the International Day of Climate Action celebration in Portland.

There are several places to join the coastal walkers: at Cathedral Park on the north end of the St. John’s Bridge for a brisk 8-mile walk; at Wallace Park in NW Portland for a leisurely two-mile walk. People can also join at Tanner Springs Park, or Jamieson Square for shorter walks (about a mile) along 11th Avenue to Pioneer Square.

Cathedral Park - North end of St. Johns Bridge (opposite side from Highway 30)

• Greet walkers at 8:30 AM
• Leave at 9:00 AM

Wallace Park - NW 25th & Quimby

• Arrive at 11:15 AM
• Leave at 11:45 AM

Tanner Springs Park - NW 11th & Northrup

• Arrive at 12:15 PM
• Leave at 12:20 PM

Jamieson Square - NW 11th & Kearny

• Arrive at 12:25 PM
• Leave at 12:30 PM

Pioneer Square - SW Broadway & Morrison

• Arrive at 12:50 PM
